I know, I know. I am possibly the most inconsistent bloggers out there. And no, its not because I get too busy for you and neglect my responsibilities as a blog owner, I just experience prolonged periods of writers block. Its like constipation of the mind. There is stuff in there, it just will not come out. Anyway, I’m back this week with New Years resolutions to get better at this. With four AP classes, a new Etsy shop up and running (www.etsy.com/shop/SmallTownNC), and college/scholarship applications, I have been all sorts of busy. But okay, enough with excuses… here’s the post. Since I can’t exactly remember everything that has happened to me since I wrote my last blog post, I will take a quick second to look through my iPhoto (I literally document almost everything in my life by photos) and do a recap of my life for the past few months.
Okay, lets start with November:
Yeah, so I started my own photography business! Aren’t my best friends just beautiful!
Ummm… This happened… (My father on a child’s ATV)
This cool guy came to my school and played “Don’t Worry Be Happy” about a hundred times and showed us his dreds… yes, that is his real hair.
And, I made my very first cheesecake (it turned out marvelously if I may say so)
And we had some snow covered mountains for a split second.
A previous counselor from Germany came and spent Thanksgiving with my family.
And we all piled onto the couch.
And took tons of fun selfies.
Most importantly, my best friend came home from UNCSA for Thanksgiving and we spent the whole night sending snapchats of each other back and forth.
Then we have December. All of these months are beginning to blur, so I am so glad that Apple now organizes my photos for me by month. December was an amazing month and so many exciting things happened, my favorite of them all being our Christmas present: a trip to see the grandparents in Holland.
We decided to make gingerbread houses in Art, but apparently, gingerbread houses are a lot harder to make than I originally thought.
I tried out some Korean cuisine and made bibimbap. Deliciousness in a bowl.
My very favorite art teacher’s book came out and I read it in about three days. If you haven’t read it, read it.
Celebrated my friend Bethany’s birthday. Threw hand warmers into the fire, made Nutella s’mores, and someone drove their car into a ditch.
Went and saw my very best friend perform on the big stage at UNCSA’s Nutcracker.
Then we got onto a plane and headed across the ocean.
Only to land in Holland where I had an amazing time with my family.
Trivia Crack was introduced into my life, and hours and hours were spent playing.
We also played more traditional board games like Risk.
And my Oma taught my sister and I how to make her famous rice pudding.
And then it snowed, and was amazingly beautiful, but horribly cold.
But my Aunt and I endured and had a mini photo lesson at the Boxtel castle.
And we had visitors from the coast.
We also spent a day in Eindhoven doing all sorts of shopping.
Many a mornings looked like this as all the cousins took a break from Trivia Crack to have breakfast.
And on the last night of the year, we celebrated with fireworks. Lots and lots of fireworks.
Now, onto January. Where many a days were spent lounging in bed from “snow” days and many more were spent learning new and exciting things…
2014 ended in Holland, and 2015 began in Holland. Visited a car museum in Boxtel.
Had the infamous vis met friets (fish with fries) on Friday with the whole fam bam.
My cousin and brother got all dolled up to go to a big party.
And we visited the Holy Oak, a very special place to my grandparents.
And then my adventures in Holland came to an end, and it was back to the US we go. See you again in May!
And we flew over the mountains of Greenland and I was blown away by the view.
Then I reminisced about 2014 and read all of the notes in my “Memories of 2014” jar. I miss my girls.
I started my Etsy shop (www.etsy.com/shop/SmallTownNC) and sold my first, and second, and third… pairs of shoes!
And Peyton came over, and let me style his hair (this is a big accomplishment… he never lets me touch his hair).
And my sister brought home some friends from college and we all went on an incredibly fun ski trip.
And my January ended with the most precious puppy cuddles.
So there you go. I thought this was kind of fun. Maybe I’ll do this every month. Just a recap of my month with pictures. I hope we are all caught up and you can forgive me for those months of absence. Coming to you next week with a little Write About It Wednesday (if I remember… someone remind me!)
Until next time… Peace out, enjoy life, and live the adventure. BOOM!
